Role Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Security Program Specialist is to deliver comprehensive security support for various Special Access Programs (SAPs).

This position will involve daily multi-faceted analysis for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities.

KEY IMPACT AREAS:
- Ensure strict compliance with the NISPOM, its Supplement, the DoD Overprint, DCID, ICD, and SAP policy.
- Assist in formulating and executing approved policies and procedures for safeguarding SAP, SCI, and collateral data in support of military operations.
- Provide daily security support, including ongoing evaluation of procedures to identify deficiencies and recommend enhancements for security policies, procedures, and systems.
- Identify vulnerabilities, threats, and risks associated with testing, training, and operational activities.
- Aid in the development, implementation, and training of the Operations Security program.
- Offer assistance and oversight to contractors and subordinate facilities.
- Conduct briefings for personnel at all levels, including government and senior civilian services, on various security-related topics.
- Perform and document compliance reviews for SAP facilities, follow-up reviews, and facility close-outs.
- Monitor, report, and track all corrective actions resulting from compliance reviews.
- Ensure timely communication of relevant security matters to program technical and management staff.
- Investigate any loss, compromise, or suspected compromise of classified and/or sensitive information, including conducting preliminary inquiries and generating damage assessments.
- Collaborate with SAP security personnel to integrate lessons learned into the SAP security education and awareness program.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Familiarity with security policies/manuals and relevant DCIDs/JAFANs and other guiding documents.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and effectively engage with various DOD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- High degree of originality, creativity, and initiative requiring minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel within the organizational geographic Area of Responsibility (AOR).

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience (4 years)
Required Experience:
8 years of related experience; some SAP experience required.
Security Clearance Level:
TS/SCI with willingness to submit to a CI polygraph.
