Job Overview

MS-IL Staffing & Packaging is actively seeking a dedicated 2nd shift Machine Operator to support our client in the food manufacturing sector.

Compensation: $21.00 per hour

Work Schedule: 2nd Shift, 2PM-10:30PM, Monday through Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Initiate machine operations and monitor for any malfunctions.
  • Report any machine issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance on Case Packer machines and associated systems.
  • Ensure a tidy work area at all times.
  • Operate and maintain the bailing machine.
  • Utilize the floor scrubber for cleanliness in the production area.
  • Conduct necessary testing and monitoring of packaging processes.
  • Alert supervisors to any quality concerns regarding materials or packaging.
  • Complete daily cleaning and inspection reports for Case Packer operations.
  • Remove any damaged products from the production line.
  • Follow pre-set procedures for machine setup, including verifying product specifications and packaging materials.
  • Operate various machines, including Douglas case packers and shrink wrappers, in both manual and automatic modes.
  • Make minor adjustments to machinery as needed.
  • Feed packaging materials into machines and replenish supplies as necessary.
  • Perform operational tasks on Hi Cone and Wolf Tech Stretch Wrap machines.
  • Set up and ensure proper functioning of Markem Coders, Glue Pots, Video Jet, and UPC Labeler machines.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform all essential tasks effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with sanitation chemicals and safety procedures.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 6 months of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Physical Requirements: The role requires frequent communication, standing, walking, and the ability to lift and move items of varying weights. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
