Envelope Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled Envelope Field Inspector to join our team at Socotec. As an Envelope Field Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting field reviews and progress inspections on designated projects, ensuring that exterior building design and construction meet the highest standards.

• Conduct field reviews and progress inspections on designated projects, including shop drawing, modeling, design development, and construction documents.
• Field review observations will include detailed forensic investigation and analysis of failed or defective construction.
• Track project activity by maintaining well-written reports, detailed documents, schedules, effort of work, and estimates.
• Perform weekly project field observations, including below grade waterproofing, below slab vapor barriers and pipe penetrations, observation prior to installation of Shotcrete walls, observation of building cladding, window applications, and roofing components.
• Produce field notes on site and in the office, photograph all conditions observed during inspections, and coordinate contractual issues.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering (Architectural, Civil, or Mechanical preferred).
• Minimum 1-3 years working with building envelope design, inspection, development, and/or engineering.
• Working knowledge of current codes and standards, waterproofing, exterior cladding, and building envelope components.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, strong written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office and modeling/drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM).
