Job Title: Community Health Worker - COVID-19 Response

The City of Baltimore, Mayor's Office of Employment Development, is seeking a Community Health Worker to join our COVID-19 response team. As a Community Health Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting the City's efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and promote public health.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Community Health Worker. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing education and support to City employees on COVID-19 prevention and control measures
  • Conducting interviews with City employees to gather information about symptoms and exposures
  • Providing information and instructions to City employees on isolation and quarantine procedures
  • Referring City employees to testing, vaccination, or other resources as needed
  • Communicating with City employees in a professional and empathetic manner
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in public health, community health education, or a related field
  • One year of experience in community health education, customer service, healthcare, education, or social services
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Critical thinking and sound judgment
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to exhibit interpersonal skills with a professional, positive work ethic
Preferred Qualifications:

We prefer candidates with:

  • Experience in public health, medical, epidemiology, or a related field
  • A bachelor's degree in public or community health education from an accredited college or university
