Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Narrative Designer to contribute to the development of Zynga's next engaging AAA PC and Console ARPG. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the game's narrative through captivating stories, immersive quests, and dynamic dialogue that enrich the game world and enhance player engagement. Building upon an established franchise universe, the Narrative Designer will collaborate with diverse teams to integrate complex narratives and lore into every aspect of the game.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop narrative scripts and create lore, missions, dialogue, and other narrative components that deepen the game's experience and immerse players in the game world.
• Collaborate with the Story and Design teams to ensure seamless integration of narrative elements within the gameplay.
• Work with licensors to produce content that honors and expands upon a franchise while delivering a fresh, unique experience.
• Partner with the Product team to align narrative milestones with live service and content rollout timelines.
• Collaborate with the Story team to craft item/prop descriptions, flavor text, and mission objectives.

Desired Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of experience in video game writing.
• Proven experience in writing fiction, particularly in the science fiction genre.
• High adaptability to changes in direction or rewrites.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to prioritize and execute ideas effectively.
• Excellent research skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Comprehensive understanding of industry trends in interactive storytelling.
• Candidates should be prepared to provide at least 2 writing samples or a link to an online writing portfolio.

Pluses

• Passion for ARPG and looter shooter games.
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine and UE blueprints.
