At MemorialCare Health System, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietitian III PD to join our team. As a key member of our clinical nutrition team, you will play a vital role in providing expert-level medical nutrition therapy to our patients.
Job SummaryThe Dietitian III PD is an expert-level position that requires a specialized level of practice reinforced with two or more Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) certifications or demonstrated expertise within an assigned population. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide patients with medical nutrition therapy using current scientific literature and best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Apply expertise in normal and therapeutic nutrition, medical terminology, and abbreviations.
- Complete nutrition assessments on all patients and enter pertinent data into the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Provide nutritional counseling to patients on medical nutrition therapy as per scientific literature and best practices.
- Assist with monthly performance improvement projects by gathering data and generating reports.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English.
- Provide excellent customer service to ensure patients' needs are met.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and ancillary staff to implement nutrition recommendations and improve patient services.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply infection control policies and procedures for safe food handling.
- Act as a mentor to level I and level II RDs and the Diet Office/Hostess Staff by assisting with in-services and guidance as needed.
- Demonstrate ability to contribute as a team member to complete tasks, resolve problems, and achieve department goals.
- Ability to maintain a clean working environment.
- Ability to maintain criteria for RDIII status.
- Ability to be at work and be on time.
- Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and directives.
- Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- 3-5 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- Experience as a clinical dietitian to support specialty certification.
- Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Food and Nutrition from an accredited college or university. Master's Degree in Nutrition or allied health profession preferred.
- Completion of an AND-approved dietetic internship or advanced degree with AND qualifying experience.
- Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) credential.
- Two or more Specialty Certifications required.
