Position Overview:


This role is situated within Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services, a leading global fund administrator specializing in the management of complex hedge fund assets.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter, capable of thriving as a strategic contributor in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. A robust technical accounting background and strong interpersonal skills are essential for success in this position.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly net asset valuation reports.
  • Prepare and/or review annual Financial Statements, collaborating directly with external auditors and clients to ensure the precision of each fund's annual documentation.
  • Engage with clients and other shared services teams to gain insights into fund activities on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborate with international partners to resolve inquiries and provide feedback regarding the preparation of monthly net asset valuation reports.
  • Work closely with technology teams to address and resolve issues.
  • Assist with accounting tasks related to the launch of new funds.
  • Participate in Financial Control working groups focused on executing strategic initiatives.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance and automate reporting and analytical processes through technology.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Client-focused mindset.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on Accounting; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • CPA designation is a plus.
  • Experience in Investment Management and/or Financial Services; Hedge Fund experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Big 4 public accounting firms is a plus.
