Part-time Drama Support Assistant

Job Summary:

The School District of Springfield Township is seeking a part-time Instructional Assistant to support students with special needs during drama activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special needs during drama activities before or after school/weekends during the school year.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to develop and implement individualized plans for students.
  • Provide assistance with classroom management, lesson planning, and student supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with special needs preferred.
  • Must enjoy working with children.
  • Must be considered highly qualified in the state of PA by completing at least one of the listed requirements below:
    • a. Have completed at least 2 years of postsecondary study (48 credits) or
    • b. Possess an associated degree or higher or
    • c. Meet a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through a State or local assessment (Paraeducator Credential of Competence).

Terms of Employment:

Part-time position after school and weekend hours during the school year.

Clearances:

  • State Police Clearance (Act 34)
  • Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
  • FBI Fingerprints (Act 114)
  • School Health Record - includes physical & tb test from within a year
  • Act 24 (PDE Form Arrest/Conviction Report)
  • PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release - A separate form must be completed for:
    • 1. Current employer;
    • 2. All former employers that were school entities;
    • 3. All former employers where you were in a position that involved direct contact with children.
