Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Travel Nurse RN to join our team at Travel Nurse Source. As a Travel Nurse RN, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting.
Responsibilities:- Provide nursing care to patients with complex medical conditions, including cardiac procedural recovery, MI pharmacology, and titratable cardiac/vasoactive drips.
- Care for patients with direct admits, ED admits, post-cath lab, MI, STEMI, CHF, dysrhythmia management, pacemaker malfunction, and epicardial pacers.
- Function as a backup stroke unit and medical overflow.
- Maintain patient ratios typically at 1:4, subject to acuity adjustments.
- Assist and support with phlebotomy, and collaborate with a charge nurse, resource nurse, and respiratory therapy available 24/7.
- Utilize Epic charting system, Alaris pumps, and Omnicell equipment.
- Participate in a weekend rotation schedule every other weekend.
- Adhere to holiday work expectations, working every other holiday.
- Will be required to float to sister units like General PCU, MS/Tele, or ICU, within the scope of practice as needed.
- Minimum 1.5 years of general nursing experience required.
- Will accept first-time travelers with 2 years of experience.
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing.
- BLS - AHA.
- ACLS - AHA.
- NIHSS.
- Advocating for patients from diverse backgrounds and with different healthcare needs refines your patient advocacy skills, making you a more effective advocate in various healthcare settings.
- Different healthcare facilities may have varying nursing policies and procedures. Adapting to these variations helps you understand the importance of compliance and the rationale behind different policies.
