Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Team Lead to join our team at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. As a key member of our Information Management Program, you will be responsible for leading the development of systems that provide vital data to wildlife biologists, game managers, and researchers managing animal populations in Alaska.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of systems that provide hunting permits and track the harvesting of game species in Alaska
  • Collaborate with the Information Management Program manager to design and implement technical solutions for complex business problems
  • Coach junior developers on new techniques and technologies
  • Initiate and manage contracts for software development projects
  • Work with the team to modernize mission-critical legacy systems and develop new features and systems
Requirements
  • 6 years of computer programming experience, with at least 2 years as a project lead or system design lead
  • Experience in organizational data management and information systems design
  • Experience with modern programming languages, software development methods, database design and development
  • Excellent communication, planning, prioritization, and decision-making skills
