Position Title: Production Operator
Compensation: $17.00 per hour (equivalent to $35,360 annually)
Role Summary: The Production Operator will acquire skills to operate various machinery, hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other equipment related to jewelry manufacturing. Responsibilities may encompass milling, lathing, casting, finishing, stamping, tumbling, ring sizing, jewelry repair, soldering, assembly, and polishing. The role may also involve using manual kick presses and small spinning lathes. Good vision and manual dexterity are essential, as the position involves working with small components and tools. This role may require extended periods of standing, bending, lifting up to 45 lbs, pushing, pulling, squatting, or kneeling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consistently arrive on time, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Be open to occasional overtime, compensated at time and a half
- Utilize various tools and equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Inspect, set, and weld small jewelry components
- Engage in all safety training related to production
- Maintain a production backlog of no more than 5 days
- Understand and apply metal flow processes and security protocols
- Keep the workspace clean and organized
- Follow all security protocols, including wearing metal-free clothing and displaying an ID badge at all times
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong work ethic with a record of punctuality and consistent attendance
- Demonstrate responsibility, respect, and honesty
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues through written and verbal communication
- Capability to read, comprehend, and follow training materials and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Proficient in using and interpreting measuring instruments (rulers, gauges) for measurements in ounces, grams, inches, and millimeters, along with basic math skills
- Excellent attention to detail
