Dedicated Wound Care Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Oklahoma Wound Center, part of the esteemed Norman Regional Health System. As an LPN in this role, you will play a vital part in assessing and treating various wound types, with a primary focus on diabetic foot ulcers.
About the Role:This is a PRN position, requiring flexibility and adaptability. Your responsibilities will include collaborating closely with specialized physicians, administering medications safely and accurately, documenting patient care activities, and maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. You will also assist in training new staff members and contribute to the development and implementation of patient care plans in accordance with the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act.
What We Do:The Oklahoma Wound Care Center is a leading outpatient wound center in the Oklahoma City area, serving a diverse range of patients and their unique needs. Our staff work tirelessly to assess and treat complex wounds, often in collaboration with 3 wound care specialized physicians. With 10 exam rooms and 4 hyperbaric oxygen chambers, our facility provides a dynamic and fast-paced environment for healthcare professionals looking to make a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities:- Perform duties as prescribed by the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act.
- Contribute to the development of a plan of care and follow through with such plan for selected patients.
- Administer medication with high safety and accuracy.
- Document nursing care and activities.
- Assist with patient care and monitor patients during procedures.
- Collaborate with the departmental assistant on clinical matters.
- Maintain exam/treatment rooms and work environment.
- Support the training of other staff members.
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Completion of a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurses.
- Previous hospital experience is preferred.
- A stable employment history is necessary.
- If no prior work experience, your school attendance record and performance will be taken into consideration.
To succeed in this position, you must possess:
- A current Oklahoma State LPN License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation.
- Ongoing Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory for the duration of your employment.
