We are seeking a seasoned City Planner to join our dynamic team at Jobot, a fast-growing and design-oriented engineering firm. As a City Planner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our cities, creating sustainable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing urban environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive plans and programs for land use and physical facilities of jurisdictions, such as towns, cities, counties, and metropolitan areas.
  • Conduct field investigations, surveys, and impact studies related to planning and environmental issues.
  • Review and evaluate environmental impact reports pertaining to private and public planning projects and programs.
  • Advise on feasibility, cost-effectiveness, regulatory conformance, and possible alternatives for planned public projects.
  • Coordinate work with economic consultants and architects during the formulation of plans and the design of large pieces of infrastructure.
  • Assess the feasibility of proposals and identify necessary changes.
  • Present projects to planning and zoning boards, and the general public.
  • Keep informed about economic or legal issues involved in zoning codes, building codes, or environmental regulations.
  • Work with the Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with each entity.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in city planning, with a focus on urban development and environmental sustainability.
  • Proficiency in CEQA and NEPA, with a strong understanding of environmental policies and regulations.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and use it to inform planning decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in the use of GIS and other planning-related software.
  • Certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is preferred.
