Gannett Fleming, Inc. is seeking a talented Wastewater Engineer with robust technical skills to join our Water/Wastewater division. This role will provide essential engineering support to municipal projects.

The Wastewater Engineering expert will engage in the design of water distribution systems and facilities, including treatment plants and booster pump stations, as well as wastewater collection systems and other municipal engineering projects. The ideal candidate should be capable of working autonomously to advance projects or collaboratively within a team to create comprehensive plans and specifications. Experience with large diameter water lines and routing studies is advantageous, and proficiency in water modeling is highly valued. This position offers a hybrid-remote work arrangement, requiring three days per week onsite.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborating with project teams on the planning, design, and construction oversight of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Engaging with clients, delivering presentations, and coordinating project activities.
  • Managing work efforts among various technical personnel and consultants, including developing and enforcing study and design standards, leading progress meetings, and monitoring project timelines and budgets.
  • Interfacing with municipalities and regulatory agencies.
  • Overseeing construction contract management and providing observation services.
  • Preparing reports and handling permit applications.
  • Mentoring and supervising junior engineers.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.
  • 4-7 years of experience in the water or wastewater sector, specifically in designing infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in evaluating, designing, permitting, and managing the construction of water distribution systems and facilities.
  • Familiarity with large diameter water line studies.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD software.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a proven track record in client presentations and report writing.
  • A strong leader and team player with exceptional planning and organizational skills.
  • Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Experience with BIM and Bluebeam software.
  • Expertise in water modeling.
