Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate patient care medical devices under limited supervision.
  • Provide technical support for low, medium, and high-risk equipment, utilizing a strong understanding of medical device integration and networking.
  • Apply technical skills following Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) or Alternative Equipment Maintenance (AEM) recommendations.
  • Evaluate issues, identify a resolution, and complete repair independently.
  • Perform quality assurance inspections according to codes, standards, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain a cost-effective inventory of replacement materials for servicing medical devices.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to junior Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMET).
  • Communicate Biomed compliance with Regulatory and Safety requirements.
  • Participate in environment of care (EOC) rounds and attend training seminars to enhance skills.
  • Assist with equipment planning, pre-purchase evaluations, and installation of new equipment.
  • Deliver a professional and customer-oriented experience.
  • Assist in educational programs on equipment use for personnel.
  • Recommend new equipment, testing procedures, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Understand and comply with Joint Commission and other relevant standards.
