The primary goal of this role is to oversee the Installation Division and surpass client expectations regarding product installation services within a designated region while optimizing installation profitability.
This is achieved by collaborating closely with Installation Coordinators, supervising subcontractors, and leading internal installation teams.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To excel in this position, an individual must effectively manage the following essential tasks:
Coordinate all installation initiatives, ensuring superior workmanship and timely project completion while maximizing profit margins and exceeding client satisfaction.
Promote effective communication and foster relationships among clients, contractors, subcontractors, Technicians, and Sales Representatives.
Identify, select, and supervise the work performed by subcontractors and in-house installation teams in the designated area.
This role is accountable for the seamless execution of all installations within the assigned territory, ensuring that delivery commitments are met while optimizing installation profitability.
This encompasses job scheduling, product acquisition, and workforce planning, working in tandem with sales, administrative staff, subcontractors, and clients.
The individual must maintain current technical knowledge of all products offered by the district, including commonly sold allied products, as well as major industry trends and competitive offerings, providing technical support to the sales team, clients, and installation crews regarding application issues, installation costs, and scheduling.
This role is responsible for ensuring that all Rite-Hite products are correctly applied and installed according to company specifications.
This necessitates a close collaboration with the operating companies' applications departments and regular interaction with the sales team to guarantee that Rite-Hite products function as intended.
This position is tasked with developing a robust Installation Team.This includes forecasting staffing needs for both internal installation crews and subcontractors by trade type, ensuring adequate personnel is available to meet demand while managing costs effectively.
The incumbent will be responsible for establishing, nurturing, and maintaining relationships with subcontractors. The individual will negotiate with subcontractors regarding scheduling, pricing, timelines, and project management.The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring all subcontractors comply with contractor qualification standards, including safety performance and appropriate insurance coverage, and assists in addressing job site access requirements.
Additionally, this position is responsible for planning internal installation staffing, including hiring, training, and managing personnel.This role is responsible for ensuring that all Technicians within the Installation Division receive comprehensive training, including initial and ongoing training, and ensuring progress in completing the Technician Training Standard and advancement through the ASAPP levels of development.
This position is accountable for overseeing the safety of all Technicians in the Installation Division, as well as collaborating with subcontractors to ensure their personnel receive adequate safety training to meet client and job site requirements.
This includes ensuring initial and periodic safety training, confirming that all Technicians possess proper, functioning safety equipment, conducting periodic inspections of equipment and site safety audits, and enforcing safety policies and compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.
In the event of an accident, this position is responsible for completing the necessary documentation, investigating the incident, and implementing appropriate measures (including corrective actions, if warranted) to mitigate future risks.
This role is responsible for enforcing all company policies and performance standards.This includes ensuring all employees are informed of these policies through effective orientation, communicating changes, setting performance expectations, and holding employees accountable through corrective actions as necessary.
This also includes educating subcontractors on our quality standards and consistently enforcing those standards.Review all orders to determine which are "projects" requiring direct oversight by the Installation Manager and which can be managed by the Installation Coordinator or a Lead Technician.
Review contracts for scope of work, safety requirements, schedule, site-specific requirements, and prevailing wage requirements.Consult with sales staff on jobs requiring pricing outside of standard "book pricing" and provide pricing, balancing the need to maximize installation revenue while remaining competitive.
Participate in project kickoff meetings, ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders and fostering positive relationships with clients, contractors, and other parties involved in the project.
Conduct site visits as necessary pre-sale to ensure all considerations that need to be addressed during quoting are taken into account.
Coordinate and perform job site inspections as needed.The incumbent will be responsible for promptly resolving any problematic jobs by focusing on the swift completion of projects that meet client expectations and collaborating effectively with all parties.
Maintain the district's electronic installation schedule.Engage in cost control activities, including reviewing subcontractor invoices and assessing project profitability.
The incumbent ensures proper training of installation personnel (both Arbon Technicians and subcontractors) and verifies the performance of products and installers through installation and job site evaluations.
Monitor project performance, including work quality, adherence to safety standards, compliance with Arbon customer service standards, and meeting deadlines, as per AQBP.
The incumbent will promote a safe and healthy work environment for Arbon employees and subcontractors.This includes modeling safe behaviors and safety policies, supporting safety training initiatives, conducting safety audits of Technicians and subcontractors, and overseeing safety on job sites.
Collaborate with the Operations Manager, other Installation Supervisors, and staff in evaluating and implementing installation improvement strategies.In addition to managing the installation operations, the Service Manager has secondary responsibilities in supporting the service aspect of the business.
The incumbent collaborates with the Service Manager in reallocating employees and contractors between the Service and Installation departments as necessary to enhance customer service, as well as providing technical expertise to service clients, sales personnel, etc.
and ensuring Service Technicians receive the necessary training to perform installations.This position is responsible for monitoring and identifying performance issues among personnel, both in-house and subcontracted, and for proactively addressing negative behaviors.
At a minimum, this position is responsible for conducting two performance evaluations with all direct reports each year.As part of the performance appraisal process, the incumbent will work with each employee to establish performance objectives at the beginning of each year or upon joining the company.
The incumbent is responsible for fostering a team-oriented atmosphere among direct reports and across functional lines.The incumbent will collaborate with the District Operations Manager, District Sales Managers, Service Managers, Administrative Managers, and Technician Team Leaders in developing and implementing strategies that maximize synergies between functions and promote teamwork.
This position may require some overnight travel throughout the district - this will vary by district.Other Duties Assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will possess:
A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; or three or more years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
