Job Overview:

The Packaging Associate plays a crucial role in the operational success of Heart of the Desert Inc. This position is essential for ensuring that all products are packaged safely and attractively, adhering to food safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently package food items using various automated machinery and scales, while following established protocols.
  • Maintain organization of product inventory by restocking and rotating items as necessary.
  • Conduct visual inspections of machinery and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Assist in quality control inspections to uphold product standards.
  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing tasks to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to all operational rules and procedures, completing necessary documentation related to tasks.

Essential Skills:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. regularly throughout the work shift.
  • Capability to climb small ladders and stairs as needed.
  • Strong basic math skills for accurate documentation.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English communication.
  • Ability to read, calibrate, and operate scales and automated equipment accurately.
  • Familiarity with operating a pallet jack and hand truck (training provided).
  • Commitment to maintaining good hygiene in accordance with food safety guidelines.
  • Willingness to work weekends and overtime when required.
  • Ability to learn and follow safety procedures and protocols diligently.
  • Punctuality and reliability for scheduled shifts.
  • Flexibility to perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in commercial food handling is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in commercial food packaging is also preferred but not required.
