Cardiac Rhythm Specialist

The Cardiac Rhythm Specialist plays a vital role in monitoring the cardiac rhythm and identifying changes in the cardiac rhythm, reporting their findings to the Primary Registered Nurse caring for the patient.
As an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team member, the Cardiac Rhythm Specialist integrates all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the Plan of care to address a specific patient's needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Knowledgeable of which patients are on Telemetry and their bed location
- Assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by The Employee Service Standards of Behavior
- Assures safety in practice inclusive of the principles of evidence-based practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience
- Assumes responsibility for his/her own professional advancement
- Reports identified safety issues and knowledge of the patient population served
- Communicates effectively and collaborates with nurses and other patient care providers
- Other essential duties as required
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
- Satisfactory completion of Strip exam and completion of Hospital Orientation
- Ability to Read, write, speak and comprehend English
- Completion of a Certified Telemetry Monitor Course
- BLS through the American Heart Association
