Job Summary

Northwell Health is seeking a highly skilled EEG Technician to coordinate and facilitate EEG Lab operations, including technical duties, professional services, documentation, and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and facilitate EEG Lab operations, including implementing staff coverage and maintaining on-call schedules.
  • Instruct technicians and related clinicians in technical aspects of neurological testing.
  • Perform all functions of an EEG Technician, as required.
  • Review test reports and patient records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare digital files for archiving.
  • Monitor operational processes to ensure adherence to safety and quality performance standards.
  • Recommend process improvements, as needed.
  • Implement quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives and report activities to management.
  • Arrange equipment servicing in accordance with service contract provisions.
  • Evaluate and recommend equipment replacement, as required.
  • Compile and analyze laboratory performance statistics and report findings to management.
  • Schedule testing and coordinate patient transportation, as required.
  • Perform electroencephalograms (EEGs), twenty-four hour inpatient video EEGs, and outpatient EEGs.
  • Submit test result reports to Physician for interpretation and signature.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current EEG Technician Certification, and Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
