Position Overview


The FP&A Lead for Oceaneering Mobile Robotics (OMR) will be instrumental in enhancing operational performance across business units by modernizing and optimizing processes to provide timely, accurate, and actionable insights to key stakeholders.

The FP&A Lead maximizes value by delivering high-quality annual budgeting, rolling monthly forecasts, business intelligence, analytics, and management reporting to all OMR leaders.


Work Environment and Travel

  • This role offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for both virtual and in-office work as needed.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% is required.
Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  • Collaborate with senior management to formulate and execute business strategies, providing financial insights to facilitate decision-making.
  • Deliver comprehensive analytical support to OMR leaders, highlighting value creation opportunities and cost management strategies.
  • Lead and coordinate long-term financial modeling for the global OMR business unit.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting at all organizational levels.
  • Analyze and report on monthly variances against plans/forecasts, offering insights for business leaders.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to assess the performance of respective business units.
  • Project business growth and market trends to inform short- and medium-term financial planning.
  • Conduct ongoing performance analysis and propose corrective action plans to enhance profitability and cash flow as necessary.
  • Identify financial risks and devise strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Supervise the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis, continuously seeking opportunities for process improvement.
  • Lead and manage the finance and accounting team for OMR, aligning direction with company strategy.
  • Assume comprehensive administrative responsibility for the accounting and planning functions supporting business operations.
  • Manage monthly and quarterly financial reviews, closing, and reporting processes for management purposes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, financial, or business analysis roles.
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying financial concepts and analysis results to executive management.
  • Outstanding problem-solving, analytical, and project management abilities, with experience coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated business judgment in complex environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a product and systems delivery environment.
  • Familiarity with Workday Adaptive Planning software.
  • Proficiency in statistical or scientific software packages (e.g., R/SPLUS, Mathematica, MATLAB).
  • An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
  • 3 years of post-graduate experience in consulting, financial services, or corporate finance is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the automation and/or robotics sector.
