Patient Care Assistant/Certified Nurse Assistant

As a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to a dynamic team of healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse, including activities for daily living, comfort, nutrition, and hygiene needs.
• Take and record clinical measurements, collect specimens, provide transportation, and maintain equipment and supplies.
• Assist with routine patient admission and discharge duties, documenting all interactions in the patient record.
• Demonstrate knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures, and infection control practices.
Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Current certification as a Nurse Assistant/Certified Nurse Assistant from the state of California or completion of the first semester of a Registered Nurse program or equivalency.
• Limited Phlebotomy certification (must be obtained within the first year of employment).
• Demonstrates effective communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational ability.
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
