The job entails working with close guidance and supervision on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Senior Surveyor. You will perform surveying, mapping, and data collection activities using state-of-the-art equipment, including levels, robotic total stations, GPS devices, and data collectors.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Use basic knowledge of field survey work to collect data relevant to the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimension of land or land features.
- Assist in transferring survey data to the proper files in the computer network.
- Operate and maintain survey instruments and measuring devices.
- Perform tasks such as holding level rods, prism poles, or tapes at designated points, laying out stakes, and clearing brush and trees from the line of survey.
- Maintain equipment and survey vehicles, ensuring safe operation and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need basic knowledge of surveying, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment. Experience performing field boundary, topographic, land title surveys, and construction staking is highly desirable. Additionally, proficiency in using GPS, data collectors, total stations, robotics, and other relevant survey equipment is essential.
