Key ResponsibilitiesThe Infusion Senior Pharmacist is tasked with:
- Overseeing the procurement, compounding, dispensing, distribution, storage, and administration of pharmaceuticals, adhering to established standards and regulatory requirements.
- Providing essential drug information to healthcare professionals, patients, and their families, ensuring clarity and understanding.
- Functioning as a staff pharmacist and stepping in as the Pharmacy Manager when required, maintaining operational continuity.
- Managing the daily purchasing activities of pharmaceuticals, ensuring the availability of necessary medications.
- Supervising and mentoring pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, to enhance team performance and professional development.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing pharmacy operations.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a hospital pharmacy or infusion center is required.
- Experience in oncology pharmacy is preferred, along with completion of an accredited residency program.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy is mandatory.
- Familiarity with 340B Drug Program compliance is essential.
- A current and valid CA Registered Pharmacist license is required.
- Strong professional judgment and decision-making skills are necessary for effective performance.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members, patients, and the public.
- Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical practices, principles, and methodologies.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pharm.D. degree is preferred.
- Completion of an ASHP accredited hospital oncology or infusion residency is advantageous.
- Board Certification as an Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) is preferred.
- Experience in retail pharmacy is considered a plus.
