Key Responsibilities- Perform geologic evaluations and provide technical support for geology, earthquake hazard, engineering geology, and geotechnical engineering studies.
- Design, plan, and execute field exploration, testing, and instrumentation programs.
- Conduct geologic reconnaissance and mapping to identify potential geotechnical hazards.
- Perform observation and testing during construction to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Develop and implement geotechnical engineering solutions to mitigate soil and rock slope stability issues.
- Interpret soil samples geologically and construct geologic profiles to inform project design.
- Assist with proposal and report preparation, including the development of technical reports and presentations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and staff at all levels to ensure project success.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise engineers and other employees to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects.
- Review technical and other reports, and calculations done by lower-level employees to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support business development and marketing activities, including the preparation of cost proposals and presentations to existing and prospective clients.
- Adhere to Quality Assurance policies and procedures to ensure project quality and safety.
- Follow and promote Health & Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering specialty) or related field.
- Master's or Ph.D. Degree in Geotechnical Engineering (or Geological Engineering), supported by a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Geology.
- 14+ years of experience as a Geotechnical Engineer, with a strong background in geotechnical engineering principles and practices.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state where the office is located.
- Mentoring and supervisory experience, with a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
