Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team at Heartland Dermatology Center. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical team in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
    • Obtain a thorough medical history and present illness from patients
    • Perform a review of systems with patients to identify potential health concerns
    • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment
    • Take and record patients' vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse
    • Assist with medical procedures, such as suture removals and wound care
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care
  • Administrative Support
    • Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and documenting treatment plans
    • Process and prepare medical supplies, equipment, and instruments for procedures
    • Assist with scheduling appointments, managing waitlists, and coordinating patient flow
    • Provide administrative support to the medical team, including preparing reports and maintaining accurate records
  • Education and Training
    • Stay up-to-date on current medical practices, procedures, and technologies
    • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge
    • Collaborate with the medical team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes
  • Other Duties
    • Perform various administrative tasks, such as answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace
    • Assist with special projects and initiatives, as needed
    Requirements
    • Education
      • High school diploma or equivalent required
      • Completion of a medical assisting program or equivalent experience preferred
    • Skills
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
      • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
      • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
      • Ability to lift and move patients, equipment, and supplies as needed
    • Certifications
      • CPR certification required
      • Medical assisting certification (e.g., CMA, RMA) preferred
