Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Early Childhood Special Educator, Infant to join our team at ACI Federal Defunct. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide developmental and educational services for developmentally delayed infants and toddlers, as well as their parents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct developmental assessments and work with infants in various activities, including cognitive skills, social-emotional skills, language skills, gross and fine motor skills, and adaptive skills.
  • Develop and implement objectives outlined in the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) following the initial assessment.
  • Document developmentally appropriate instructional objectives and task analysis programming for young children with handicapping conditions.
  • Maintain intensive child and family records and documentation in accordance with federal and other applicable guidelines.
  • Review and update child and family's goals and objectives as established in the IFSP on a regular basis.
  • Schedule and provide educational activities in the home environment or other natural environment as identified by the family, and in compliance with the IFSP.
  • Coach parents in various intervention strategies and work to engage the parent in active participation in home-based activities.
  • Work closely with Service Coordinators and other early intervention services providers.
  • Participate in child find activities, such as health fairs, community screenings, etc.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in special education or related educational field plus state licensure with an endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education from VA Board of Education.
  • Experience working with developmentally delayed infants/toddlers.
  • Endorsement in preK-3 is also acceptable.
  • Possession of a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record as reported by the Department of Motor Vehicles are required for persons using a personal or agency vehicle in the performance of their duties.
