Position Overview
The R&D Technician is integral to the exploration, assessment, and advancement of innovative technologies within our agricultural and specialty sectors. Helena is actively engaged in the integration of precision agriculture tools, including drones and imaging technology, to enhance research and development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish studies at Helena-managed facilities and/or partner farms.
  • Apply crop protection and production products, along with various seeds and crops, across the designated territory.
  • Assess product efficacy, performance, crop safety, yield, and quality.
  • Maintain study environments for cleanliness and readiness for field demonstrations.
  • Ensure the upkeep and cleanliness of Helena's R&D facilities to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Gather, input, and analyze data from trials using specialized research software.
  • Calibrate scientific and commercial equipment for accurate application.
  • Conduct maintenance on equipment, including basic repairs to small engines and spray machinery.
  • Operate light, medium, and heavy machinery for diverse agricultural tasks.
  • Prepare reports and materials for field demonstrations and other events.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in an agriculture-related field is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is required.
  • Successful completion of a drug test and background check is necessary.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license is essential for operating company vehicles.
Preferred Skills
  • Mechanical aptitude, including the ability to perform basic repairs on small engines and spray equipment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
Work Environment
