Amplify is seeking an experienced Instructional Coach, Literacy to join our Professional Development team as a fixed-term employee for the Los Angeles Unified School District. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of teaching and coaching in K-5 literacy, with a strong understanding of the Science of Reading pedagogy and aligned high-quality instructional materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide onsite coaching and training support to teachers and leaders in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) who are implementing Amplify's literacy suite.
  • Collaborate with regional/school leadership and the Amplify Literacy Professional Development Strategist to determine the strategy, focus, and coaching approach for different times of the year.
  • Deliver model lessons and co-teach alongside classroom teachers to strengthen the implementation of Amplify's literacy suite.
  • Facilitate professional development sessions (in person and remote) for leaders and teachers to enhance their knowledge and skills in literacy instruction.
  • Support teachers in analyzing data and using it to inform their practice, with a focus on improving student outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Fluent in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) and able to deliver trainings in Spanish.
  • 3+ years of experience leading sustained coaching engagements and professional development for educators in K-5.
  • 7+ years of K-5 classroom literacy teaching experience, with demonstrable results for students.
  • Experience working on collaborative projects with leaders and teachers.
  • Proven efficacy in time management while managing multiple engagements and competing priorities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology-based productivity tools, including Microsoft and Google Applications.
