Overview:
In collaboration with the Procurement Manager, the Lead Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting various departments to facilitate the acquisition of supplies and equipment essential for patient care, facility upkeep, and administrative operations.
The Lead Procurement Specialist diligently investigates and resolves issues related to purchase orders, sourcing alternative product information when necessary.
This role involves maintaining daily reports and engaging in opportunities for process enhancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the expectations set forth for leadership roles.
- Generate and communicate end-of-day productivity reports to management.
- Process purchase requests for the designated region promptly, ensuring all issues are addressed, data is rectified, and orders are confirmed with vendors.
- Utilize reports to track and ensure orders from the previous day are processed and confirmed.
- Handle special purchase orders in accordance with company policies and standard procedures.
- Take corrective actions for improperly created requisitions or orders that failed to transmit as intended.
- Manage urgent requests, ensuring timely delivery and providing updates on tracking information to relevant parties.
- Address extended delivery delays by sourcing alternatives, collaborating with vendors for substitutes, and securing facility approval prior to processing.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Clinical team if alternative options are not viable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Hospital Setup.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in Procurement or Purchasing Medical Supplies is preferred.
- Prior experience in the Healthcare sector is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Inventory Management practices.
