Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

Barnes-Jewish Hospital Allied is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the administration of radioactive materials and the operation of imaging equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer radioactive materials to patients for diagnostic imaging purposes
  • Operate imaging equipment, such as PET scanners, to produce high-quality images
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses
  • Maintain accurate records of patient procedures and results
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure optimal imaging performance
Requirements:
  • National certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMTCB) and/or ARRT (N)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • 2 years of experience in nuclear medicine or a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
Work Environment:

This position will be working in our PET department, with the possibility of transferring to our new PET facility on campus. The new facility will be equipped with a state-of-the-art camera, the Quadra, one of only four in the country.
