We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Actuarial Intern to join our team at Farmers Mutual Insurance Company of Nebraska. As an Actuarial Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on various actuarial and statistical analyses that support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct actuarial and statistical analyses to support product pricing, rating algorithms, and loss reserves.
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of product rate proposals.
  • Maintain, validate, and analyze actuarial datasets.
  • Prepare reports and provide relevant summaries to management.
  • Support other departments with various analyses/reports to evaluate business performance.
Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of at least one actuarial exam preferred.
  • Interest in learning about P&C insurance and achieving membership in the Casualty Actuarial Society.
  • Competent with Microsoft programs, with reasonable proficiency in Excel.
  • Some knowledge of programming such as Visual Basic and macros.
  • Familiarity with various analytical and modeling software such as Python, R, or SAS helpful.
