About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Optum Pacific West. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to our mission of improving health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Operate radiologic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic X-ray images for breast tumor detection
- Position patients on examining tables and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimal views of specified body areas
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation
- Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance, based on knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff
- Examine radiologic images for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion
- Process radiographic images and send to PACS, and maintain X-ray storage and filing
- Ensure equipment is in working order and report malfunctions to supervisor
- Maintain patient confidentiality and participate in professional development activities
- Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved school and meets the requirements for registry by the ARRT
- Current Oregon license in Diagnostic Radiography
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Current healthcare level CPR/BLS certification
- 1+ years of mammography experience
- Epic and PACS experience
