Meridian Behavioral Health is seeking dedicated and empathetic Alcohol and Drug Counselors to be part of our leadership team at Cedar Ridge, Stillwater. As a counselor, you will play a vital role in facilitating positive change in the lives of individuals engaged in our residential programs. Reporting directly to the counselor supervisor, you will benefit from regular supervision and ongoing paid training opportunities through our corporate resource center.
Your responsibilities will include providing essential chemical health education and therapeutic interventions to support clients in their recovery journey. You will manage a caseload while also facilitating group programming. Key duties encompass conducting assessments, collaborating with organizational and community personnel, and maintaining precise documentation to ensure effective client care and revenue collection.
Compensation:
Employment Type: Full Time
This role involves reporting to the Counselor Supervisor and delivering chemical health education and therapeutic interventions to aid clients in their recovery from substance use disorders. Responsibilities include performing assessments, communicating effectively with personnel across the organization through verbal, written, and electronic means to guarantee accurate client care and efficient revenue management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proficient in executing the 12 core functions
- Familiarity with the Minnesota Matrix Six Dimension
- Understanding of cultural diversity and sensitivity to various cultural norms and values
- Assist clients in navigating county or third-party payer mechanisms and communicating clinical criteria to payers for appropriate services
- Secure funding authorizations
- Maintain professional licensure
- While not responsible for admitting, transferring, or discharging clients, you may be directed to assist in these processes by the director or designee
- Participate in all staff training sessions and meetings
Qualifications:
- Must possess current Minnesota State Licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor or an ADC-T license
