Description:
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will play a crucial role in the design, deployment, and upkeep of the infrastructure that supports the Customer Application team's operations and other applications hosted in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and/or AWS environments. This position requires close collaboration with development teams, architects, and various stakeholders to ensure the seamless and efficient functioning of our essential applications across different environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain the infrastructure components for the Customer Applications team.
- Work alongside architects and development teams to comprehend the infrastructure needs and ensure alignment with architectural standards and best practices.
- Establish high availability, backup strategies, and disaster recovery protocols for supported applications to guarantee business continuity and data integrity.
- Monitor and enhance the infrastructure components, identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks while implementing optimization measures.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and configuration management processes using various tools and scripts to boost efficiency and consistency.
- Collaborate with the security team to implement necessary security measures and ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
- Provide technical support and resolve infrastructure-related issues, working closely with development teams and vendors as required.
- Stay informed about the latest application releases, infrastructure technologies, and industry best practices, assessing their potential impact on current and future solutions.
Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure services or a similar role.
Skills and Expertise:
- Proficient in managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux operating systems, storage solutions, and networking.
- Familiarity with database management systems, including the ability to install patches and upgrades.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems (e.g., Gitlab).
- Knowledge of agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficient in scripting languages for automation and infrastructure management (e.g., Python, Shell, Ansible).
- Understanding of cloud computing platforms (OCI, AWS, etc.) and their interoperability.
- Strong grasp of high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies for critical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents and specifications.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to existing systems and processes.
- Familiarity with the Oracle Utilities technology stack is a significant advantage.
- Experience working in a mixed onshore/offshore team environment.
