Assembly Specialist 3rd Shift

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Specialist to join our team at Southern States LLC. As an Assembly Specialist, you will play a critical role in the assembly, repair, and testing of electromechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport parts from storage to work area manually or using overhead crane
  • Remove burrs and rough surfaces from metal parts using hand file or portable pneumatic grinder
  • Brush lubricant on moving parts and fit parts together on bench, following blueprints
  • Insert shims between parts to realign or level parts and verify alignment and clearance of parts
  • Bolt, screw, and rivet parts together
  • Set up and operate drill press and hydraulic or manual press
  • Connect electric wires to terminals of subassembly
  • Move subassemblies to and from storage area
  • Assist other operators during product assembly by supplying needed components or tools
  • Assist in the transportation and setup of equipment for testing
  • Maintain equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Up to one month of related experience and/or training
  • Ability to add and subtract whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to use simple mathematical and geometric devices
  • WorkKeys ACT Score (Applied Math - 3, Graphic Literacy - 4, Workplace Observation - 2)
