About the Role:
AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and organized Legal Assistant to join our Litigation team in Irvine or West Hills. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support to our attorneys, ensuring the smooth operation of our litigation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to 4 attorneys, including coordinating meetings, hearings, and appointments.
- Identify and flag critical documents, ensuring timely responses and associated deadlines to protect our clients, insureds, and company from sanctions and unnecessary litigation.
- Maintain and manage attorney calendars, avoiding and resolving conflicts.
- Generate draft templates for attorney review and approval, including pleadings, motions, objections, and correspondence.
- Coordinate with claim partners, clients, insureds, witnesses, court personnel, opposing counsel, vendors, and team members in a professional and collaborative manner.
- Maintain data integrity in our document management platform, supporting our paperless environment.
- Timely transmit and request payments to vendors and experts.
- Assist the Manager with special assignments as needed.
- Provide backup support when needed, including answering inbound phone calls, greeting and managing guests and vendors, and processing mail and electronic correspondence.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 5+ years' California workers' compensation defense experience preferred.
- Prior experience supporting multiple attorneys and competing deadlines.
- Proficient in technology, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize and work independently.
- Exceptional attention to detail and production of professional work product.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with a document management platform (Litify a plus).
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $28-$30 per hour, applicable for jobs performed in California. Base pay offered may vary depending on education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics.
