Job Responsibilities
  • Complete police reports and assist with fleet services
  • Perform department errands and ride-alongs with sworn officers
  • Participate in police-related job duties and training

We are seeking candidates who meet the qualifications for advancement to Patrol Officer. The hourly rate of pay for the Police Cadet position is $17.00 per hour, with no benefits but the opportunity is priceless.

Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of application
  • Possess or actively working towards a minimum of an Associate's Degree
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license to operate a vehicle in the State of Michigan, demonstrate a good driving record, and meet the driving record requirements of the Shelby Township Police & Fire Civil Service Commission
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a passing M.C.O.L.E.S. written and physical test result at the time of hire to Patrol Officer
