Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop firmware for embedded systems
  • Implement and maintain test strategies for components and products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, product managers, and operations support teams
  • Document work procedures and results
  • Understand hardware and software interactions
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, customers, vendors, or other business partners on engineering projects
  • Adhere to and improve safety standards
  • Evaluate failed system scenarios and determine root-cause
  • Pursue every job with drive and determination
  • Use logic to solve problems with effective solutions

Requirements:

  • Working toward a bachelor's degree in computer or electronic engineering or a related field
  • Junior or senior standing
  • Experience using embedded software development tools
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming and assembly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with microcontrollers, especially Atmel ARM/Cortex, Microchip PIC, or equivalent
  • Hardware debugging experience using JTAG, oscilloscopes, and/or logic analyzers
  • Experience with CAN Bus, RS-485, Ethernet, or similar communications protocols
  • Experience using real-time operating systems
