We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Physician Assistant to join our team at PAGNY, providing exceptional mental health care services to individuals incarcerated in the New York City jail system.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality, team-based psychiatric services, including psychopharmacologic interventions, to patients in need of mental health treatment.
- Assess patients for the need for a higher level of care, including hospitalization, and escalate care when clinically appropriate.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the mental health care team.
- Provide patient education on medication management and treatment adherence.
- Document all activities in the electronic medical record in a timely and concise manner.
- Bachelor's Degree and certification as a Physician's Assistant in the State of New York.
- At least 3 years of hospital or outpatient clinical experience as a PA in Behavioral Health.
- Advanced knowledge of psychopathology, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapeutic techniques.
