We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dishroom/Utility Attendant to join our team at Husson University. As a key member of our Dining Services team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and maintain equipment such as dish machines, carousels, and conveyor systems.
- Clear and sort waste materials from dishware, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment.
- Sort and load racks for cleaning, maintaining separate dirty and clean areas to prevent cross-contamination.
- Transport clean dishware and silverware to service areas and return prep/cook ware to production areas.
- Maintain time and temperature logs for equipment and notify supervisors of any issues.
- Provide guidance and support to student employees in the utility/dish room area.
- Keep work areas clean and well-stocked, and assist with production and service as needed.
- Participate in training and other departmental functions as required.
- Ability to operate and maintain production equipment.
- Basic knife skills and ability to grill, sauté, roast, broil, and fry food.
- Knowledge of proper and safe time and temperature for food handling.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Good customer service skills.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in dishwashing in an institutional setting is preferred.
Physical DemandsThe employee must be able to stand and walk continuously, balance, crouch, and stoop frequently, and occasionally sit, kneel, crawl, reach, and work overhead. The employee must also be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, push and pull equipment weighing up to 150 pounds, and have specific vision abilities.
