Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of residential building construction to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Review plans and specifications for construction projects to identify potential issues and ensure compliance.
  • Enforce regulations with firmness, tact, and impartiality, and issue violation notices and stop work orders as necessary.
  • Collaborate with contractors, owners, architects, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure compliance.
  • Investigate complaints and conduct specialized inspections in areas of expertise.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on code interpretations and applications.
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of experience in the field of construction, including one or more years of experience in inspection and code enforcement.
  • International Code Council certification as a residential combination inspector.
  • Valid non-commercial Class C motor vehicle operator's license.
