Job Description

The California Highway Patrol seeks a skilled Automotive Technician II to join their fleet maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing scheduled maintenance on vehicles, diagnosing and repairing minor issues, and ensuring all vehicles are returned to service in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and perform routine maintenance on all vehicles in the fleet
  • Detect and repair minor issues with vehicles
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle repairs and maintenance
  • Conduct comprehensive safety inspections on all vehicles
  • Coordinate fuel shipments and manage inventory control

Requirements:

  • Valid California Drivers License (CDL)
  • Pass a background investigation
  • Medical clearance prior to hire
  • Prior experience in automotive repair and maintenance is required

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range: $4,219.00 - $5,554.00
  • Weekends and state holidays off
  • A variety of benefits offered by the State of California
