Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the development of patterns from initial concept through to production in partnership with the Product Development team.
• Establish and manage a comprehensive Core Block Library.
• Design and revise detailed pattern cards that integrate smoothly into costing and production technical packs.
• Assist the Director of Technical Operations in supervising Pattern Makers and the Sewing Room, focusing on workload planning, productivity, and workflow optimization.
• Coordinate the sample creation process, including prototypes, fittings, and presentations.
• Ensure the delivery of production-ready patterns and facilitate the handoff of sew-by samples to manufacturing partners.
• Participate in fittings and work closely with Technical Design to implement necessary pattern modifications.
• Aid Technical Design in evaluating, modifying, and approving factory patterns and grading.
• Proactively identify and communicate potential fit and construction challenges that may arise in the sewing room, impacting production quality.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in swimwear and activewear product lines.
• Experience in sleepwear and loungewear is advantageous.
• Strong expertise in fit, garment construction, finishing techniques, and a keen eye for overall aesthetics, along with a solid understanding of grading across various products and size ranges.
• Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Educational Background:
• Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in pattern making.
• Proficient in Gerber (certification required), Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop), and PLM systems.
