Job Overview

STOW Group is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team in the United States. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing safe and efficient racking systems for our customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural analysis and design, with experience in cold-formed steel structures and racking systems. You will be responsible for providing accurate calculations, creating calculation documents, and explaining and defending the design when necessary.

You will work closely with our sales and project engineers to provide the most efficient rack structure, manage communication with suppliers, and perform preliminary analysis of systems to support sales engineers in creating competitive quotes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate calculations to sales and project engineers during the pre-sales process
  • Calculate stability according to applicable standards for steel structures
  • Create calculation documents for analyzed structures
  • Explain and defend the design when necessary
  • Manage communication with suppliers to ensure quality and structural integrity of their products
  • Collaborate with project engineers and sales engineers to provide the most efficient rack structure
  • Perform preliminary analysis of systems to support sales engineers in creating competitive quotes
Requirements
  • Master's degree in structural engineering is required
  • Experience with cold-formed steel structures or racking structures is preferred
  • Multiple years of experience with estimating and mechanical equipment design of steel structures, large storage systems, or other applicable material handling solutions
  • Experience with SAP2000 or similar software is required
  • Experience with AutoCAD 2D or similar software is required
