About this Role

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing the mechanical aspects of new products and sustaining existing products throughout their entire lifecycle. The ideal candidate will own the mechanical architecture and design execution, as well as processes, tools, and metrics used for new product development and ongoing sustaining programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to strategic planning, concept generation, architecture definition, and translation to system/subsystem/component definitions, focusing on manufacturability, reliability, safety, and sustainability.
  • Document mechanical requirements with associated rationale(s) for regulated products and test cases for subsystem requirements.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and designers on requirements development, product risk analyses, design and technical reviews, and other product development deliverables.
  • Support project managers by providing work breakdown plans and task estimates in support of project plans and schedules.
  • Effectively use tools and processes necessary to ensure traceability from requirements to test cases.
  • Contribute to resolving product mechanical-related issues in development projects and manufacturing operations.
  • Follow development processes, perform technical reviews, ensure product requirements comply with company standards, and properly document work deliverables.
  • Work closely with technical and subject matter experts to ensure accurate and complete use case coverage and regulation compliance.
  • Ensure that mechanical designs are rigorously documented, supported, and substantiated with analytical and/or numerical analyses, tested at different stages of development, and controlled.
  • Establish (as needed), implement, and maintain written verification and testing standards and policies.
  • Work closely with Approvals and Test Engineers to develop and execute mechanical tests.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigating solutions.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
