Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely transport patients to and from the Radiology Department using the appropriate transportation methods based on their condition.
  • Assist technologists during procedures and facilitate patient transfers.
  • Educate and prepare patients for their imaging procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and informed.
  • Help patients complete necessary questionnaires and position them correctly for exams.
  • Prepare the examination room and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking.
  • Manage inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
  • Document exam details accurately and keep patients and their families informed about the progress of their exams.
  • Perform vital signs assessments when required.
  • Collaborate with technologists to ensure timely submission of exams to radiologists.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must possess a self-motivated and compassionate demeanor, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in a radiology or similar healthcare setting is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of safe patient handling techniques is essential.
  • Ability to demonstrate competency in patient transportation across all age groups.
  • Basic first aid knowledge is required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Current BLS certification or completion of the course within the first month of employment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regular heavy lifting, often exceeding 100 pounds.
  • Effective communication requires the ability to talk, hear, and see.
  • Physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, and reaching are part of patient care.
  • Frequent walking and standing are necessary.
  • Manual dexterity is needed for data entry and vital signs assessment.
  • Adequate hearing and vision, with corrections if necessary, are essential for the role.
