Job Summary

The Department of History, Politics, and Law at Southern Nazarene University is seeking adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate Pre-Law courses. We are looking for qualified individuals to join our team and contribute to the academic success of our students.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses on assigned days and times, utilizing a variety of instructional methods to engage students and promote learning.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that address specific learning outcomes and meet the needs of students, incorporating technology to enhance instruction and assessment.
  • Design, administer, and grade assessments to measure student learning, gathering a sample of course assignments as requested for documentation purposes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance and grades in our Learning Management System.
  • Set up and utilize a Learning Management System site for assigned course(s), administering a final exam on the scheduled day and time.
  • Submit final grades as requested by the Registrar, performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A strong personal Christian commitment and alignment with the SNU mission to make Christlike disciples through higher education in a Christ-centered community.
  • An understanding of the importance of diversity, inclusion, and equity in academic settings.
  • A Master's Degree in the legal field or Juris Doctor, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Juris Doctor degree.
  • Experience in face-to-face classroom instruction at the undergraduate level.
  • Experience using discovery learning or inquiry-based learning for instruction.
  • Experience using a computer algebra system for instruction and assessment.
