About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team at Connecticut Children's. As a CRNA, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality anesthesia care to our young patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patients of all ages, taking into account their specific needs and development stage.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Administer pre-anesthetic medications and prepare patients for surgery.
  • Provide anesthesia induction, maintenance, and post-anesthesia care, utilizing current standards and techniques.
  • Monitor patients' responses during emergence from anesthesia and take corrective action as needed.
  • Document pre-anesthetic evaluations, diagnostic studies, and patient care plans.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate or graduate degree in nursing.
  • Graduation from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.
  • License as a Registered Nurse in the state of Connecticut.
  • Specialty license as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in the state of Connecticut.
  • Certification or recertification by The National Board on Certification of Nurse Anesthesia, NBCRNA.
