Job Description

Job Summary:

The Reintegration Specialist will provide career development and employment services to individuals with employment barriers, with a focus on reintegration into the community. This role will involve delivering job readiness and job retention instruction, as well as connecting participants with employment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver job readiness and job retention instruction to participants, using a variety of methods to appeal to different learning styles.
  • Connect participants with employment opportunities, utilizing job development techniques such as personal visits to companies, telephone calls, and other communication.
  • Provide career development services, including resume building, job search assistance, and interview preparation.
  • Assist participants in developing a career portfolio, including professional resume, certifications achieved, and references.
  • Document participant progress and maintain accurate records of services provided.
  • Collaborate with other staff and community stakeholders to provide comprehensive support services to participants.
  • Meet with participants to ensure quality service delivery and facilitate employment outcomes.
  • Provide timely follow-up to all inquiries, requests, and interventions.
  • Maintain open communication with team members to ensure wrap-around support and awareness of issues with participants.
  • Attend regular training to ensure work readiness curriculum is current.
  • Assume responsibility as an advocate for the participant.
  • Provide highest quality instruction at all times.
  • Teach several work readiness group sessions per week.
  • Research and implement a work readiness curriculum to assist Goodwill in meeting performance measures.
  • Document each participant's progress.
  • Assist each participant in the development of a career portfolio to include items such as professional resume, certifications achieved, references, etc.
  • Assist in the design and facilitation of the group support model.
  • Maintain awareness of current trends in group support programs.
  • Maintain communication with the participant that fosters responsibility and positive self-esteem.
  • Maintain all files and file information in a confidential manner, providing information about clients on a 'need to know' status.
  • Ensure compliance with project regulations, requirements, and performance outcomes and provide the required documentation to appropriate staff, agencies, and funding sources for all services and activities provided.
  • Comprehensive review of the statement of work for all funding sources as it relates to services performed.
  • Documentation of questions, concerns, suggestions.
  • Timely completion of all reporting requirements.
  • Data input into a management information system.
  • Other reports as requested.
  • Basic knowledge of child labor laws.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in providing services to disadvantaged populations with barriers to employment.
  • Experience with youth or young adults is helpful.
  • Basic computer literacy including Microsoft and Google Programs.
  • Clearances: Must be able to obtain acceptable results for required background checks, including Act 151 Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania Criminal History Check, and Department of Human Services-FBI Fingerprints.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and dependable transportation.
  • Operating telephone for quick contact by Goodwill when necessary.

Working Conditions:

  • Work duties may include activities that will primarily take place outdoors.
  • Willingness to work in various correction facilities.

Standards for Measuring Performance:

  • The degree to which the Reintegration Specialist delivers re-entry services as well as workforce readiness that enables participants served to progress toward and achieve their stated goals.
  • The degree to which the Reintegration Specialist conforms to sound rehabilitation principles and best practices, including Goodwill's Philosophy Concerning People Served.
  • The degree to which the Reintegration Specialist establishes and maintains professional, cooperative, and courteous relationships with supervisors, staff, co-workers, funding sources, and others having contact with him/her in the course of his/her duties.
  • The degree to which the Reintegration Specialist's general work habits and record of performing his/her duties in a prompt, thorough, and acceptable manner.
  • The degree to which the Reintegration Specialist represents Goodwill and its clients to the community in a positive, professional manner at all times.
  • The degree to which participants obtain and retain employment and the degree to which all of the program's performance measurements are met.
