Newborn Hearing Screening Technician

About the Role

Hearing Screening Associates (HSA) is a leading provider of newborn hearing screening services. We are seeking a part-time Screening Technician to join our team at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Suffern, NY.

Job Summary

The Screening Technician will be responsible for conducting newborn hearing screenings on all infants in the nursery and NICU prior to discharge from the hospital. This will involve working directly with nursing staff, patients, and parents to communicate the importance of hearing screening and early intervention.

Responsibilities

• Conduct newborn hearing screenings using Transient Emissions and Automated Auditory Brainstem Response (AABR) testing
• Work with nursing staff to coordinate post-discharge follow-up care as needed
• Communicate with patients and parents about the importance of hearing screening and early intervention
• Maintain and use hearing screening equipment
• Interact with various hospital departments as needed
• Uphold the code of conduct and compliance policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• No prior experience required, on-the-job training provided
• High School diploma or GED required
• Must pass drug test and background check with favorable results
• Provide vaccination record upon hire and willingness to receive updated vaccinations
• Ability to walk and stand for up to 2 hours, push and pull screening cart, and lift up to 15 pounds
